~~~ NOTICE ~~~ PLEASE READ ~~~ Never buy a dog solely based on it's price. You should never buy a puppy just because the "price is right". Just remember, you get what you pay for which sometimes means that you are not getting the quality dog that, I'm sure, you are wanting. A cheaper puppy may not cost you as much money at the time you purchase your pup, but in the long run, you will more than likely pay a lot more money in Vet bills than you had anticipated. When you do spend a lot of money to purchase a dog, make sure that you are getting what you are paying for - do your research, check references, ask questions about the puppy's background (starting with it's pedigree), and visit the breeder. Know what breed standard for that dog is and ask what registry the dog is registered with (AKC does DNA testing which helps to keep the breed pure). Do not be misled by breeders who say things like, "My dogs are the best because they are small (or teacups)". Or "I have RARE colors such as Merle, Brindle or Blue." These colors are NOT rare. Also, the smaller the Chihuahua, the more likely it is to have health problems, or even stepped on, plus they are very susceptible to hypoglycemia. The term "teacup" is a misconception and be wary of breeders who use the term. Just remember, you get the quality dog that you pay for and if you want a top quality puppy be prepared to spend money to get it. What I mean by "top quality" is: excellent health, disposition, appearance. Regarding health, dispositions and appearances, I have been able to tell a MAJOR difference between my Champion filled pedigree dogs and my dogs with a less impressive pedigree. In fact, in the past, most of my vet bills had gone towards the care of my less impressive pedigree dogs. So, in reality, they were not as cheap as I had anticipated. My goal is to keep improving my lines & to produce the BEST Pets for you which will save you money in the long run. |
